My house has FINALLY recovered from having a killer cold. I'm always intrigued by the fact that, when I'm sick, the LAST thing I want to do is listen to podcasts.
Â
I'm more of a Netflix binge sort of sick person. I think I need the visual element to keep me from remembering how cruddy I feel.
Â
But now that I've bounced back, I've been busy! I posted two new blog posts in the last two days—one with podcast recommendations and one with tips for beginning podcasters—and I just bought my ticket to go see Slow Burn Live in NYC on February 6.
Â
I travel a lot, so once I've secured my trip dates, I like to Google "podcast events [name of city] [dates I can attend]" The latest season of Slow Burn is all about Tupac and Biggie—their history, feud, and legendary status. I'm super excited to go! If you'll be in NYC that night, you can buy tickets here.

5 U.S. Politics Podcasts I'm Actually Enjoying Right Now
Â
I honestly didn't think that I'd spend the holiday season listening to a bunch of political podcasts, but that's just what I did. I discovered some great shows that are short on opinions and more about U.S. history and how our government works (as in, how it's meant to work, and how it actually works).

Slow Burn Season 3
Â
I mentioned Slow Burn at the top of this email (I'm going to see it live in NYC next month). Season 3 is full of facts and details I have never heard before. About the time Tupac and Biggie were feuding and being murdered, I was a 14 year-old white girl living in Maine. If you also have major knowledge or cultural gaps about these legends, go listen.

If you unsubscribed from, or haven't been keeping up with, the In The Dark podcast and the case against Curtis Flowers, there are quite a few new episodes to check out. Episodes 16, 17, and 18 are all very recent, and include interviews with the two most important people in the story - Curtis and D.A. Doug Evans.
