How's life? Listened to any good podcasts lately?
Â
I have. And if I'm being honest: I've also listened to a lot of bad ones! Like, whip-my-phone-out-of-my-pocket-to-stop-them bad. Oy.
Â
I don't write about the bad podcasts. I just don't think it's a good use of time to tell you, "I thought this show sucked." Better to give you the good stuff.
Â
The reason I mention it is because it happened so you know that the shows I DO recommend - both on the blog and in the latter half of this email - are ones I really like and think are quality shows.
Â
Here's hoping your day is filled with GREAT podcasts!

How to Listen to Podcasts Without Using Cell Data
Â
A new How To post on the blog, addressing the reasons you might be using data to listen to podcasts, and how you can avoid it (hint: change your podcast settings).
Â
This post includes the most important podcast settings you need to pay attention to in your app/player, and tutorials for how to adjust those settings in 3 popular podcast apps.

1. Tickets for the Chicago Podcast Festival are now on sale. Sometimes I wish I lived
in Chicago, just because they do so much cool live podcast stuff. Even if you can't make it to these live shows, click over to see the lineup (you might find something new to listen to!).
Â
Â
3. Season 2 of Lets Talk About Cats dropped this week. This is the show that believes that talking about cats is a way to understand people better.
Â
Â
5. Another sports-related podcast: Parcast (known for having a crazy amount of true crime and creep podcasts) has just launched Sports Criminals, a show about
professional athletes with illegal tendencies.

Passenger List
Â
I've been anxiously waiting for this show to come out ever since Radiotopia announced it a couple of months ago. The first two episodes are available now.
Â
Passenger List is an audio drama about a missing airliner. The show bounces back and forth - easily, without confusion - between the day the plane disappeared, and six months later.

Preach
Â
I've always been fascinated by how divisive religion can be. That's why I love the premise of this new podcast, Preach.
Â
This show is hosted by a Mormon who has questions about his religion, and the religions of others. So he talks to them. The first episode features actor Rainn Wilson, who practices a religion I had never even heard of.
Â
This is a well-produced and insightful podcast.

Podcast Maniac Designs Swag!
Â
Oh hey, remember that time I made some podcast slogans and put them on t-shirts?
Â
Go check out my new shop on Red Bubble. I used to love the cute podcast t-shirts that Red Bubble sold, but then they went
away. So I decided to make some of my own!
